Effect of Children on Happiness

Interesting post by Brian Caplan. Seems much more intuitively correct than the other research he cites that suggests that children hurt overall happiness.

  1. This is one of those studies that is only meaningful to those without kids: I think most married couples with kids could easily answer this one. Clearly children reduce income and take priority over social time, etc. but the overall effect is clearly a positive. My kids are the best thing in my life, in spite of the complications and sacrifice they bring.
