In fairness, the visual areas are still distorted a bit (because one's mind tends to fill in the cracks, rather than subtracting them out of the areas). But that doesn't hurt my enthusiasm.
It's very pleasing visually. I'd love to know more about what quantity is preserved by this projection and which are consequently sacrificed. This is the problem of map projections - you can't have it all, so you have to choose what's most important.
